When Molaí Madden landed in Australia she knew she wanted to make an impact. And here at Infrastructure Project Solutions, she’s doing all that and more.
Hard work, diligence and expertise have seen Molaí Madden move quickly up the ranks since she joined the IPS team in December 2022, most recently a promotion to Senior Project Engineer.
Molaí, who graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with First Class Honours, said she could not have achieved her success so far without the strong support she receives at IPS.
“I have always been motivated to progress quickly in my profession, and at IPS I felt as though I could do that if I put my mind to it and applied myself,” she said.
“IPS supports growth and I’m a really well-rounded engineer because of this job.
“All of the different opportunities that I get here, and the different type of clients and projects, are so vast that I’ve really learned a lot in a short amount of time.”
Molaí is particularly happy with the IPS ratio of female engineers – more than 30% compared with the average of less than 15% across Australia.
“I can’t imagine ever feeling so strong as a woman in engineering,” she said. “It’s inspiring to be working with Sascha in such a female-driven company.
“I don’t ever feel as though I’m at a disadvantage because I think we have overcome that here.”
IPS sponsored Molaí to join the team as a project engineer, based on her experience across a diverse range of roles and infrastructure projects. She brings a hands-on approach to both the technical and management aspects of her work to achieve outstanding results.
“I love doing something different every week. I feel challenged all the time and I don’t feel like I’m ever done learning. I also like the people skills that I get to use.
“When people think of engineering they think of the technical side of it, but that’s just a small proportion of the job. There is also a lot of stakeholder management and getting along with clients on a project.
“Managing everyone’s needs is important and I have definitely learned a lot of people skills.”
Molaí, who decided to become an engineer because she enjoyed maths and science, is currently excited to be working on Unitywater’s new Build Better Together program for Dormway.
