IPS is strengthening our management team as we welcome a new addition.
We are delighted to welcome Toby Chalmers to the team – joining us in the newly created role of General Manager – Engineering.
Toby is a highly experienced and accomplished Chartered Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) who brings over 12 years of specialised technical experience designing and implementing solutions related to water usage. In addition to his robust technical experience, Toby has a special interest in sustainability and integrated water supply.
Toby joins IPS from Tonkin, where he was most recently Water Lead for the East Coast, delivering water and wastewater network planning investigations for the major service providers in Southeast Queensland.
He has demonstrated capability in growing and leading a successful water infrastructure team, with experience across urban development, water authority and major government infrastructure projects.
Notable projects include Stockland’s Aura masterplanned development, where Toby was engaged as Project Manager and Lead Design Engineer for the water and wastewater network planning; the Queensland Government’s Great Keppel Island redevelopment; Caboolture West Water and Wastewater Master Planning; Bonny Hills to Kew Trunk Water Main for Port Macquarie Hastings Council in NSW; and Waterlea Estate trunk infrastructure for Urban Utilities at Walloon in Queensland.
Throughout these projects, Toby developed strong relationships with clients, contractors, project stakeholders, approving authorities, and the wider water industry.
With a focus on communication and collaboration, Toby draws on more than a decade of on-the-ground experience to analyse complex issues and offer tailored solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
He is also proficient in a range of water and wastewater modelling software used to create hydraulic models and has a robust understanding of the SEQ Design Code requirements.
Toby said he was delighted to join IPS.
“IPS has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across a range of critical infrastructure projects, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the company’s continued success,” he said.
“It’s not often you get the opportunity to work with such a talented and forward-thinking team, and I look forward to collaborating on projects that make a real difference to the communities we serve.”
IPS Director Sascha Kurz said Toby was a fantastic addition to the team.
“Toby’s ability to lead, collaborate, and provide innovative solutions makes him an excellent fit for IPS, and we are confident that his contributions will help us deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients,” she said.
“He brings with him an impressive wealth of experience and technical expertise, particularly in water and wastewater management, which will be invaluable as we continue to expand our service offering and project portfolio.
“This appointment comes at an exciting time for IPS, as we strengthen our management team with highly skilled leaders across all areas. We look forward to continuing to deliver top tier results for our clients.”
